Starting from this week, FMFS is becoming a part of the international initiative “KineDok” that aims to create an alternative distributional network for documentaries that are screened on different locations that are not ordinary movie theatres.
Creative Europe is financing the project while a production company Restart documentary is a Croatian partner and a local partner is Judino Drvo, where screenings of rewarded documentaries will take place during the entire year.
The first one is a Czech documentary “Sugar Blues” that is scheduled on 22nd April at 21h. The entrance is free! You can follow this programme onFacebook Event and on our website.

The director, Andrea, is diagnosed with gestational diabetes. She must avoid any form of refined sugar. That soon proves impossible though, because she finds sugar everywhere and in everything. Why is sugar so ubiquitous? Fear for her unborn baby changes the eating habits in Andrea's family and motivates her investigation of the sugar industry. Confronting doctors and scientists, Andrea explores the influence of sugar on human physical and mental functions. With the obsession of a detective, she identifies the ties between multinational corporations, politicians and health care.
